Updating previous reports, Curt Sylvester, of the Detroit Free Press, reports that it appears Detroit Lions P John Jett (calf) could be sidelined for several weeks. Jett, who missed three games with a similar injury to his calf in 2001, said this injury is worse. "I can't even walk right now," Jett said. He is currently using crutches to get around and is unable to straighten his injured right leg.

Updating previous reports, James Royer, of DetroitLions.com, reports Detroit Lions P John Jett (calf) is expected to miss Sunday's, Oct. 19, game against the Dallas Cowboys. "We have to determine what we're going to do with the punting situation," head coach Steve Mariucci said. "That's still a little bit up in the air. I don't think we're going to have John Jett in this game. It's just going to be a matter of do we sign a punter for a couple games here or just continue with Jason?" The Lions currently have an open roster spot, as they have decided to keep DL Luther Elliss on the non-football injury list.

Updating previous reports, James Royer, of DetroitLions.com, reports the Detroit Lions, who have looked at a total of six punters over the last two days, could bring more in on Monday, Oct. 13. "We may even bring in a few more punters on Monday," head coach Steve Mariucci said. "If somebody really impresses us we may sign a guy and punt him for a week or two – that's a possibility." The Lions decision to sign a punter to fill in for injured P John Jett (calf) will depend primarily on how long Jett will be out, which is currently uncertain.
