Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports St. Louis Rams CB Tye Hill (back) is out indefinitely after sustaining a back injury during practice Thursday, Sept. 13. It is believed Hill broke several small bones in his lower back after colliding with a teammate. Hill is expected to be replaced in the lineup by CB Lenny Walls.

Head coach Herman Edwards guessed that Walls would be back sometime next week. With Walls' injury, CB Benny Sapp has been getting large amounts of playing time and is not wasting anytime impressing.

Adam Teicher, of the Kansas City Star, reports Kansas City Chiefs CB Lenny Walls is looking to become a starting cornerback for the team. Walls is the leader in the clubhouse to be the starter at cornerback along with CB Patrick Surtain by virtue of his 20 career starts and his association with new defensive backs coach David Gibbs. "I was on a great defense in Denver, one of the best in the league. I'm going to try to bring my mentality and my competitiveness, my confidence. I play with a swagger and I'm going to try to bring that to this team. In the NFL, teams are one or two players away. Hopefully, I'm one of those players that can help this defense get to the top," said Walls. Chiefs' defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham was initially less than enthusiastic about Walls. He later warmed up to him.

Elizabeth Merrill, of the Kansas City Star, reports free agent CB Lenny Walls (Broncos) is still in the picture for the Kansas City Chiefs, but he'll visit at least two other NFL teams next week, his agent, Peter Schaffer, said Thursday, March 30. Schaffer declined to say what teams. "We've had some positive discussions with the Chiefs," Schaffer said. "We had a very enjoyable and beneficial trip, and he has nothing but respect for the organization."

Jeff Legwold, of the Rocky Mountain News, reports Denver Broncos CB Lenny Walls (groin) suffered a groin strain during pre-game warm-ups for the Week 7 game against the New York Giants. Walls played only one snap of the game. He had been playing in the dime package. With Walls unable to play full speed, the team abandoned the dime in favor of the nickel. SS Curome Cox or CB Karl Paymah are candidates to fill in the dime if Walls is unable to play.
