An MRI on Friday revealed a torn labrum; he had also dislocated his left shoulder while making a headfirst slide. He will miss at least four months, but still hopes to play at some point this year.

Updating previous reports, the AP confirms Seattle Mariners outfield prospect Jamal Strong (shoulder) will likely miss 3-4 months. Strong injured his left shoulder Wednesday while sliding headfirst into third base during a game against Anaheim in Tempe. Strong, 24, will have an MRI Friday and probably will need surgery.

The AP reports OF Jamal Strong (shoulder) of the Seattle Mariners will miss a minimum of 10-to-14 days as a result of dislocating his left shoulder in a game on Wednesday. He’s expected to have an MRI exam to determine the extent of the injury. Strong played in Double-A last season and recorded 46 stolen bases.
