San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh issued a warning to his team at the conclusion of minicamp Thursday, June 19. "Beware with whom you associate," Harbaugh said. "Very important to know your surroundings. Friend or foe? There always seems to be a foe present." Offseason incidents involving LB Aldon Smith and QB Colin Kaepernick likely played a role in Harbaugh's comments.

"Very impressed with Blaine mentally, physically all attributes that you'd like to see in a quarterback," Harbaugh said. "He's been very good, very solid. (He's) picked up everything very quickly. It's going well. Everything is progressing well. I think you'll watch it when you have a chance to see it today and look at it for yourself. In my eye, it looks very good."

San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh is pretty unhappy that TE Vernon Davis and OT Alex Boone have decided not to show up for the team's minicamp this week because they are unhappy with their contract situations. "As a voluntary segment to the offseason and we appreciate those guys volunteering to make the team better," Harbaugh said. "Now, it's mandatory and wish they could've . . . (it's) not the decision I envision being the 49er way."

Whitfield was recently brought in to assist the team as part of a coaching fellowship program. "There's no carte blanche, but we agree on a lot of things," Harbaugh said. "I haven't found anything we disagree on, so it's not like we've turned our quarterbacks over to George. He's going to augment, he's going to assist."
