Green Bay Packers DE Datone Jones (ankle) is still trying to work through an ankle injury. "We'll see with Datone. I don't think he's confident on that ankle yet," said defensive line coach Mike Trgovac, declining to get into specifics with the injury. "He's still trying to work through playing through the pain of that ankle right now. He's not complaining about it. But he's working through it."

Green Bay Packers defensive line coach Mike Trgovac said a major factor in taking a defensive coordinator job with another team would be family considerations, reports Bob McGinn, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Trgovac said he loves his job with the Packers and the situation would have to be right to leave.

Pat Yasinskas reports for the Charlotte Observer Carolina Panthers defensive line coach Mike Trgovac and defensive backs coach Rod Perry will interview for the team's vacant defensive coordinator position. As noted previously, the team will also talk to 49ers assistant coach Jim Mora Jr. later Monday. The Panthers could interview other outside candidates in the next few days.

Len Pasquarelli reports for ESPN.com the Carolina Panthers were using rookie DE Julius Peppers at left defensive end during this weekend's mini-camp. Peppers claimed after his first mini-camp that he is looking forward to the challenge of learning the new position, and of silencing the skeptics. "He's more physical than people realize and his quickness, everyone knows about that, so we think he's going to be fine (at left end)," said defensive line coach Mike Trgovac.

As an update to a previous story, Panthers.com reports the Carolina Panthers have hired Mike Trgovac as their new defensive line coach. Trgovac comes to Carolina after spending the past two years with the Washington Redskins.

The Washington Post reports Redskins coach Marty Schottenheimer has now decided to let former interim coach Terry Robiskie and LB coach Foge Fazio go. He apparently will retain only one holdover assistant, defensive line coach Mike Trgovac.

According to the Washington Post, Redskins coach Marty Schottenheimer reportedly will interview former Bengals coach Bruce Coslet for his offensive coordinator vacancy and former Bills coach Wade Phillips for his vacant defensive coordinator slot. The Redskins have pretty much abandoned their pursuit of St. Louis Rams associate head coach and WR coach Al Saunders as an offensive coordinator candidate. It does look like the team will retain defensive line coach Mike Trgovac.
