Updating previous reports, AZCardinals.com reports the Arizona Cardinals have announced Jerry Sullivan as the team’s new offensive coordinator. He was promoted from wide receivers coach, agreeing to a three-year contract. “I’m pleased professionally and personally that Jerry Sullivan has decided to become offensive coordinator,” head coach Dave McGinnis said. “The expertise and excellence he has demonstrated throughout his career coaching wide receivers will now be expanded to every facet of our offense.” Financial terms of the deal were undisclosed.

The Arizona Republic reports Arizona Cardinals WRs coach Jerry Sullivan withdrew from consideration for the team's offensive coordinator job. There are other candidates for the job as well. Coach Dave McGinnis spent most of Friday interviewing former Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave, and has interviews set up with at least two more coaches at the Senior Bowl in the coming days. Two possible candidates are San Francisco QBs coach Ted Tollner and Kansas City QBs coach Terry Shea.

However, he is reportedly undecided whether he will accept the offer, when it is made to him. He may not be the only one under consideration by coach Dave McGinnis. Sullivan has other options. Cowboys coach Bill Parcells reportedly is interested in hiring him to coach receivers.
