Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said QB Carson Palmer quit mentally during the course of the 2010 season. "At what point did Carson quit?" Lewis asked. "At some point last year he decided he didn't want to be here. This didn't happen at the end of the season. There was a point earlier on when he said, 'This isn't the place for me.'"

Bengals | Know Carson Palmer won't play again

The Cincinnati Bengals, including head coach Marvin Lewis, know QB Carson Palmer will not play for them again, according to a general manager with a club that could use a quarterback, reports Clark Judge, of CBSSports.com. However, the GM also believes Palmer won't be dealt - if he's dealt at all - for nearly a year. Once a new collective bargaining agreement is in place, the Bengals will be free to field offers, only there's a widespread belief that they won't be interested. If the Bengals grant Palmer his wish and trade him, owner Mike Brown sees it as a precedent for other disgruntled players to follow.

Auburn athletic department officials are anticipating a crowd of potentially over 125 NFL coaches and pro personnel types for the school's Pro Day Tuesday, March 8, according to Gil Brandt, of NFL.com. Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera and Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis were seen in attendance. The headliners of Auburn's Pro Day will include QB Cam Newton and DL Nick Fairley; however, 22 players in all will be measured, tested and run through drills.

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis had dinner with former Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress Thursday, Jan. 20, according to Joe Reedy, of The Cincinnati Enquirer. Childress could potentially replace Bob Bratkowski as offensive coordinator; however, Lewis has said that he is not yet ready to relive any assistant coaches of their jobs.
