The Cincinnati Reds activated 3B Miguel Cairo (hamstring) from the 15-day disabled list Monday, May 7, and outrighted OF Willie Harris to Triple-A Louisville in a corresponding move. Cairo went 0-for-10 with two strikeouts in three rehab games with Single-A Dayton.

The Cincinnati Reds optioned 2B Todd Frazier to Triple-A Louisville Wednesday, April 4, in order to finalize their 25-man roster. RPs Ryan Madson (elbow) and Nick Masset (shoulder) were placed on the 15-day disabled list. RP Jordan Smith (elbow) was also placed on the 15-day DL and OF Willie Harris' contract was purchased.

Reds | Dusty Baker not worried about Scott Rolen

Cincinnati Reds manager Dusty Baker said he's not worried about the health of 3B Scott Rolen this year. Baker is confident Rolen will be out on the field and will play as many games as his body will allow. However, Baker plans to keep Rolen fresh this spring and won't overwork him. INFs Juan Francisco, Wilson Valdez, Chris Valaika, Todd Frazier, Willie Harris and Paul Janish are all in the mix for the last bench spots, and any one of them could wind up spelling Rolen at third. INF Miguel Cairo is another option.

New York Mets RP Jason Isringhausen, OF Scott Hairston and RP Tim Byrdak, who will all be free agents after the season, are not expected to be traded this year, according to a source familiar with the waiver process. All three players were reportedly claimed off waivers and pulled back by the Mets, which makes them ineligible to be traded. OF Jason Bay, SP Chris Capuano, P D.J. Carrasco, OF Willie Harris and OF Angel Pagan have all cleared waivers and are eligible to be traded.
