The Los Angeles Dodgers finalized their two-year, $8.75 million deal with 2B Mark Ellis Tuesday, Nov. 15. The contract includes a $5.75 million team option for the 2014 season. He will make $2.5 million next year and $5.25 million in 2013 and will be the team's starting second baseman. Ellis will make an additional $25,000 for each 500, 525, 550, 575 and 600 plate appearances. The option includes a $1 million buyout.

The team will also look for a second baseman and utility infielder, with candidates including re-signing 2Bs Jamey Carroll or Aaron Miles, or going after free-agent 2B Aaron Hill (Diamondbacks), SS Clint Barmes (Astros), OF Jerry Hairston Jr. (Nationals) or 2B Mark Ellis (Rockies).
