Mark Sheldon, of MLB.com, reports the Cincinnati Reds have signed P Brian Meadows to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training. Meadows was 3-6 with a 5.17 ERA and eight saves in 53 games for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays last season.

Updating previous reports, Tampa Bay Devil Rays RP Brian Meadows' declined option for the 2007 season was worth $1.05 million, and he was given a $500,000 buyout, according to the Associated Press. Meadows made $700,000 in 2006, including $100,000 in performance bonuses, while going 3-6 with a 5.17 ERA and eight saves in 53 relief appearances.

The Associated Press reports Florida Marlins SP Ricky Nolasco, who earned his 10th victory Aug. 8 in a 4-2 win over the Washington Nationals, is the third rookie in club history to reach 10 wins. Dontrelle Willis won 14 games as a Marlins rookie in 2003, and Brian Meadows won 11 in 1998.
