The Associated Press reports Baltimore Orioles P Jose Acevedo (collarbone, ribs) will miss the entire 2007 season after breaking four ribs and his collarbone in a motorcycle accident Friday, Feb. 16. Acevedo was conscious and in intensive care Friday. He was supposed to report to the Orioles camp Wednesday, Feb. 14, but never showed up.

Colorado.Rockies.MLB.com reports Colorado Rockies C Yorvit Torrealba (strained right shoulder) will catch Colorado Springs P Jose Acevedo in an intrasquad game Thursday, May 18 in Arizona. If that goes well, Torrealba will see his first action of the year in an extended Spring Training game May 19. He will likely stay in extended spring through the weekend before joining a minor-league team to continue the rehab assignment.

The Denver Rocky Mountain News' Tracy Ringolsby reports Colorado Rockies RP Tom Martin has made the team as a reliever, beating out P Jose Acevedo for the spot. Acevedo will begin the year as a starter at Triple-A Colorado Springs.
