According to The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, St. Louis Cardinals SP Dewon Brazelton is expected to go over to the minor league camp on March 3 in a reassignment move. Brazelton has not thrown from the mound this spring; he is on a conditioning and strengthening program to improve his fitness. The team said Brazelton is expected to throw from the mound soon.

The St. Petersburg Times' Marc Topkin reports Tampa Bay Devil Rays 3B Sean Burroughs, acquired from the San Diego Padres in December for SP Dewon Brazelton, was released from Triple-A Durham after batting .214 (28-for-131) in 37 games with one home run and 11 RBI.

San Diego Padres minor league P Dewon Brazelton (oblique), now pitching with Triple-A Portland, left a game Thursday, June 22 with a left oblique strain, after only throwing six pitches, according to Amanda Branam, for SanDiego.Padres.MLB.com. He had a 3.79 ERA for Portland before the injury.
