Los Angeles Dodgers SP Aaron Harang will earn $3 million next season and $7 million in 2013, with an $8 million option for the 2014 season, which includes a $2 million buyout. His option will vest at $7 million if he throws 360 innings over the two seasons, with 175 of those coming next year. It will vest at $7.5 million if he throws 380 innings including 180 next year; it will vest at $8 million if he throws 400 innings over the two years. The vesting option will be nullified if he has an arm injury before the end of next season.

San Diego Padres SP Aaron Harang declined his $5 million player option but didn't receive a $500,000 buyout because he fell 14 1/3 innings short of the 185 specified in his contract. The Padres declined RP Chad Qualls' $6 million option and paid him a $1.05 million buyout. OF Brad Hawpe's $6 million option was bought out for $1 million.
