Tue, 15 May 2012 09:22:06 -0700 New York Mets manager Terry Collins was ready to replace RP Frank Francisco with RP Jon Rauch in the ninth inning Monday, May 14, if one more batter would have reached base. Francisco gave up two hits, a walk and a run while nailing down the save, but he's given up 22 hits and eight walks in 14 2/3 innings this year.
Mon, 14 May 2012 14:27:28 -0700 New York Mets manager Terry Collins said he considered using a closer-by-committee situation that would involve RPs Frank Francisco, Jon Rauch, Bobby Parnell and Tim Byrdak.
Sat, 21 Apr 2012 22:44:06 -0700 New York Mets RP Jon Rauch allowed a hit with a strikeout while retiring just one batter Saturday, April 21, against the San Francisco Giants. He was actually credited with a blown save, but he picked up the relief win. He has not allowed an earned run in 8 1/3 innings, but he did not want to talk about possibly replacing the struggling RP Frank Francisco as closer. "I'm not part of the conversation so I can't answer that question," Rauch said.
Fri, 20 Apr 2012 22:34:01 -0700 New York Mets RP Jon Rauch tossed a perfect eighth inning Friday, April 20, to extend his career-best scoreless streak to start a season to eight.

Sat, 14 Apr 2012 22:27:47 -0700 New York Mets SP Jonathon Niese, RP Bobby Parnell and RP Jon Rauch combined on only the Mets' second shutout at Citizens Bank Park since the ballpark opened in 2004. The other came Aug. 7, 2010. Niese allowed five hits and a walk with five strikeouts over 6 2/3 scoreless innings as he moved to 2-0 and lowered his ERA to 2.13.
Mon, 09 Apr 2012 13:51:47 -0700 New York Mets manager Terry Collins said RP Miguel Batista could see save chances on days that RPs Frank Francisco and Jon Rauch are both unavailable.
Thu, 05 Apr 2012 12:40:17 -0700 New York Mets manager Terry Collins made it clear RP Frank Francisco is the team's closer heading into opening day Thursday, April 5. RP Jon Rauch will be the setup man, and RPs Ramon Ramirez and seventh-inning specialist RP Bobby Parnell will fall in line after that.
Tue, 28 Feb 2012 11:16:25 -0800 New York Mets RPs Manny Acosta, Frank Francisco, Jon Rauch, Ramon Ramirez and Tim Byrdak are all but locks for spots in the bullpen. RP Bobby Parnell has a strong chance for the sixth spot, but he also has a minor league option remaining.
Fri, 24 Feb 2012 17:58:49 -0800 New York Mets manager Terry Collins informed RP Jon Rauch that he might be used for an out in the seventh inning, then continue on in the eighth in relief. And while the manager typically will double-switch in those situations, he told Rauch to prepare this spring to bat once in a while during the season. Rauch has just two hits in 21 career at-bats, but he has one home run off former SP Roger Clemens, then of the Houston Astros, when Rauch was a member of the Montreal Expos.
