Lions | Team to host Draft Party

The Detroit Lions will host the 2008 Draft Party at Lucky Strike Lanes Saturday, April 26, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The party will feature games, prizes and appearances by Lions alumni and current players. TE John Owens, DL Cory Redding, SS Ron Rice, FB Cory Schlesinger, OL Jonathan Scott, CB Keith Smith and DL Dewayne White are scheduled to appear.

Jeff Darlington, reporting for the Sporting News, reports by signing FB Cory Schlesinger, head coach Cam Cameron believes the Miami Dolphins have created a potentially potent combination that could eventually compare to the San Diego Chargers deadly duo of RB LaDainian Tomlinson and FB Lorenzo Neal. By giving Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown a blocker like Schlesinger to clear holes for him, it could allow the former second-overall pick to finally begin showing the skills Miami expected to see from him in his first two seasons. Schlesinger, a 13-year veteran, is one of the best blockers in the league.
