Jack Etkin, of InsideTheRockies.com, reports that the Colorado Rockies have agreed to terms with OFs Alex Escobar and Bronson Sardinha, 1B Josh Phelps and P Chris Gissell on minor league contracts. They will have the opportunity to make the club's Triple-A Colorado Springs roster during spring training.

Updating a previous item, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports St. Louis Cardinals 1B Josh Phelps signed a deal that will pay him $750,000 at the major-league level and does give him a chance to reach free agency if he isn't in the big leagues by a deadline in June.
