Cincinnati Reds 2B Brandon Phillips and OFs Ryan Ludwick and Drew Stubbs all homered in a winning effort Thursday, April 19. The team had just one homer in their last nine games and started the day with a .211 batting average. Phillips and Stubbs hit their first homers, while Ludwick's was his second. Stubbs went 3-for-5 in the game. Phillips' two RBIs were his first of the season.

Cincinnati Reds OF Ryan Ludwick (illness) missed a second straight day of workouts Tuesday, March 27, due to an undisclosed illness. "He's sicker. We sent him home," manager Dusty Baker said. "He was trying to play yesterday. We want him quarantined. We don't want whatever it is to go around now."
