Rangers | Prince Fielder having big series

Sat, 23 May 2015 19:02:54 -0700

Texas Rangers 1B Prince Fielder went 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs, three runs scored and a walk in a 15-4 win over the New York Yankees Saturday, May 23, and he is 5-for-9 with three home runs, seven RBIs and five runs scored in the first two games of the series.

Fantasy Tip: Fielder ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) is crushing the ball and the Yankees, and he should be in your lineups at FantasyScore in the third game of the series Sunday night.

Rangers | Prince Fielder belts a pair

Fri, 22 May 2015 20:04:43 -0700

Texas Rangers 1B Prince Fielder went 2-for-5 with two home runs and four RBIs in a 10-9 win over the New York Yankees Friday, May 22, notching his first multi-homer game since April 5, 2013.

Fantasy Tip: Fielder ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) is hitting .341 this year and has 13 RBIs in his last 11 games. With his power starting to come around, he makes a solid play at FantasyScore right now.

Rangers | Prince Fielder trading power for average

Sun, 17 May 2015 20:49:02 -0700

Texas Rangers 1B Prince Fielder is hitting .344 this season, but 39 of his 52 hits have been singles, and he has five home runs through 38 games.

Fantasy Tip: Although the average is certainly nice, Fielder ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) is only on pace for 21 homers. With that in mind, there are other options at available at FantasyScore in the same price range that offer more upside.

Rangers | Prince Fielder using the whole field

Fri, 17 Apr 2015 10:34:49 -0700

Texas Rangers 1B Prince Fielder is hitting .400 to start the 2015 season but doesn't have any home runs yet. Opposing pitchers continue to throw him away, and Fielder hasn't tried to pull pitches, instead taking what the pitchers are giving him and using the big part of the field to foil the shift. He has also swung and missed on just four of 62 pitches off the plate on the outside. Fielder said this spring that he knows his swing better and his approach at the plate is more sound.

Fantasy Tip: Fielder ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) is off to a great start this year, minus the home runs. That should be forgiven by his fantasy owners in favor of good health. If his solid approach continues, Fielder could be in for a great year, especially since the power should eventually come. Don't be overly concerned that he's facing a lefty (J.A. Happ) Friday night.

Rangers | Prince Fielder hopes to be ready for spring training

Thu, 10 Jul 2014 16:26:15 -0700

Texas Rangers 1B Prince Fielder (neck) is hopeful that he'll be fully ready for spring training next year, although he has yet to resume baseball activities. Fielder is not trying to return this year. Fielder finished the year with a .247 average and just three home runs in 42 games. "Right now, not really worried about the baseball part. Worried about just actually letting it fuse and letting it heal," Fielder said. "Baseball stuff, that'll be there, obviously, but I just want to heal first before I do anything. Once I get cleared to do something, I don't know how to do under 100 percent."

Fantasy Tip: There will be some hesitance to draft Fielder because of his serious neck injury, but if he's 100 percent healthy in spring training next year, he could be a relative bargain on draft day if the rest of your league mates are wary of the slugger.

Rangers | Prince Fielder could swing a bat this season

Fri, 27 Jun 2014 13:17:17 -0700

There is an outside chance Texas Rangers 1B Prince Fielder (neck) could swing a bat again before the end of the season.

Fantasy Tip: While anything Fielder does before the end of the year would be considered good news, Fielder will not have any value until 2015 at the earliest.
