USAToday.com reports the Long Island Ducks, of the Atlantic League, signed RP Bill Simas to an undisclosed deal.

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports the Seattle Mariners purchased the contract of RP Bill Simas from Long Island of the Independent League and assigned him to Triple-A Tacoma.

The Long Beach Press-Telegram’s Gabe Lacques and Brian Dohn report P Bill Simas is in camp with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Simas previously agreed to a minor league deal and will make $700,000 if he makes the opening day roster. He last pitched in the big leagues in 2000 and has appeared in 308 career games.
