Toronto's manager Carlos Tosca, who says the pitch is good enough to throw in games right now, describes the pitch as a "dive-bomber" when it works correctly. Service used the knuckle ball as a strikeout pitch when he pitched in Japan, and he thinks it may serve the same purpose in the Major Leagues.
