The Minnesota Twins rested OF Josh Willingham and C Ryan Doumit on Sunday, May 19, against the Boston Red Sox. Willingham entered Sunday hitting just .103 (4-for-39) over his last 10 games with no homers to lower his average to .108 on the season. OF Wilkin Ramirez made the start in left field in his place. As for Doumit, he was given the day off after catching the day before in a game that lasted three hours and 53 minutes. He was also involved in a collision at home plate with Red Sox C Ryan Lavarnway in the sixth inning.

Minnesota Twins C Ryan Doumit is hitting .322 in his last 23 games entering play Wednesday, Aug. 8, with five home runs and eight doubles in that span. Manager Ron Gardenhire said Doumit has made an adjustment to his stance and is seeing the ball better.
