MLB | Mike Gonzalez to undergo surgery

Free-agent RP Mike Gonzalez (knee) is expected to undergo surgery to fix a torn meniscus in his left knee in the near future. Gonzalez is expected to be fully recovered by spring training next year. He pitched through pain during the Texas Rangers' playoff run.

Texas Rangers RP Mike Gonzalez (knee) said Saturday, Oct. 29, that he will have his left knee scoped net week, and he will be fully prepared for spring training. He is a free agent, but hopeful of returning to the team. "I'm definitely interested in coming back," Gonzalez said. He threw a slider in the eighth inning of Game 7 of the World Series and he felt his left knee completely give out. He tore the left meniscus late in the season.
