Updating an immediate report, the Palm Beach Post's Tom D'Angelo reports Florida Marlins RP Lee Gardner (elbow) hopes to begin throwing from a mound by next weekend. If that happens, he should be able to return by mid-June. He has been throwing for about two weeks.

The Miami Herald's Clark Spencer reports Florida Marlins RP Lee Gardner (elbow), who has been on the disabled list since April 18 due to elbow inflammation, is awaiting results from an MRI taken Thursday, May 22. He doesn't believe he'll need surgery.
