According to the team's official site, Lions coach Marty Mornhinweg said the team could use its first round draft pick on a QB, namely Drew Brees. He said their interest in a QB does not rest on the health of current starter Charlie Batch. Earlier reports had Batch missing some workouts because of his knee, but Morhninweg indicated that Batch is still going through his full workouts. "The knee is a non-issue at this point," Morhninweg said. "(Charlie) is working out and I just saw him a few minutes ago and he is back into his routine." The coach said they could select Brees or another young quarterback in the draft. He also acknowledged the team had other needs. He indicated the team will possibly look to acquire a TE and a pass-rush specialist in the draft. He did say offensive line is the priority. The coach added last week's signing of CB Todd Lyght had them more confident at that position.
