Manning threw his first touchdown pass to WR Reggie Wayne, making Manning and former Miami Dolphins QB Dan Marino as the only quarterbacks to throw 55 touchdown passes to two different receivers. Manning's second touchdown pass tied him with former NFL QB Fran Tarkenton for third place on the NFL's career touchdown passing list. Both Manning and Tarkenton have 342 touchdown passes.

In the 89-year history of the National Football League, only one player has thrown for more yards in a three-year period than Brees. Former QB Dan Marino threw for 13,967 yards between 1984-86.

He did become only the second quarterback to pass for at least 5,000 yards.

Manning reached the milestone after 139 games, beating former Miami Dolphins QB Dan Marino and Dallas Cowboys QB Drew Bledsoe's record of 146 games. Manning completed 14-of-20 passes for 183 yards with one touchdown and one interception against the Philadelphia Eagles.
