Updating a previous item, Miami Marlins RP Juan Oviedo received a visa to return to the United States Wednesday, May 23. However, he must serve an eight-week suspension proposed by the league first. Oviedo is expected to serve as a setup man to RP Heath Bell when he returns.

Updating a previous report, Miami Marlins skipper Ozzie Guillen is leaning heavily toward putting RP Heath Bell back in the closer role, but he wouldn't say if that would happen Friday, May 11. "I want him to be there. I'm going to give him a shot. He deserves another shot and I like what I saw in Houston and I think we should," Guillen said.

Miami Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen announced Saturday, May 5, that he was demoting RP Heath Bell from the closer's role. Bell might be used in early to middle relief to get on track. Guillen said Bell will be used in "whatever the inning we think would work for him." RP Steve Cishek will serve as the fill-in closer.
