Amaro said he was doing well in his recovery from elbow surgery but needed extra time to get ready. Contreras will remain in Florida next week to pitch in minor league games and could be activated as soon as April 10. The Phillies would like to see how he fares pitching on consecutive days before he joins the major league roster.
