Updating a previous report, San Diego Chargers RB Ahmaad Galloway, currently allocated to the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europe, has been named the league's Offensive Player of the Week, reports Chargers.com. Galloway carried 31 times for a club-record 161 yards to help the Galaxy score 23 unanswered points and defeat the Amsterdam Admirals 23-14 in Week 2. Through two games, the University of Alabama alum has rushed for an NFL Europe leading 198 yards on 42 carries.

Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan said RB Ahmaad Galloway has a chance to play some football for them this year. "Anytime you don't play for a couple years, you'd like to get some live action. That's one of the reasons we sent him to NFL Europe, so he could actually go into a situation and start feeling comfortable with his knee. I think right now he's not worried about going live. He's just trying to learn the system and make our football team," Shanahan said.

Galloway, who has been out of football the past two seasons due to a knee injury, played for the Scottish Claymores in NFL Europe this spring. After the layoff, Galloway says his confidence is back. "I got a chance to work on my passing-catching game, and basically, on all of my skills," said Galloway. "Being out of football for almost two years, you can do all the rehabbing you want to do, but there are some things you just can't simulate. So you have to go through those things to get crisp again."

DenverBroncos.com reports that Denver Broncos rookie RB Ahmaad Galloway (knee) is feeling more strongly about his recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament that ended his college career at Alabama. After going through practices at minicamp, quarterback camp and voluntary camp during May and June, Galloway proved to be durable during those practices, not missing a workout on account of the injury. "It will (be fine)," he said of the knee. "Definitely, without a doubt. It can be even better."
