The New York Jets have announced the release of TE Jason Thomas, who was signed as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Nevada-Las Vegas in May.

Randy Lange for the Bergen Record reports the New York Jets have signed undrafted rookie free agent QB Jason Thomas (UNLV). Thomas played QB in college, but will play tight end/wide receiver with the Jets.

Matt Gambill, of All Pro Scouting, has informed KFFL that UNLV QB Jason Thomas measured in at 6-foot-3 5/8 and 242 pounds. He was clocked at 4.86 and 4.90 in the 40-yard dash, had a 7.35 three-cone drill, 4.48 short shuttle, 9-foot-6 broad jump and 32" vertical jump.
