Cowboys | DeMarco Murray getting support from QB

Fri, 23 Jan 2015 15:29:30 -0800

Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray is getting support from QB Tony Romo to stay with the team long term. Romo said he is consistently talking to owner Jerry Jones about bringing him back in 2015.

Fantasy Tip: Murray may be the odd man out if the team chooses to re-sign or franchise tag Dez Bryant this offseason. If Murray does indeed land somewhere else, his fantasy value could dip running behind a different offensive line.

Cowboys | Will redo Tony Romo's contract

Thu, 22 Jan 2015 02:30:23 -0800

Updating a previous item, Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo will have his contract adjusted next season. Romo has a $17 million salary in 2015 and a cap hit of $27.7 million, but the team will convert a large portion of that money into a signing bonus and give it to Romo in a lump sum. It can then spread the payments out.

Thu, 15 Jan 2015 17:23:36 -0800

Fantasy Tip: Romo enjoyed a solid season for the Cowboys, throwing 34 touchdowns and leading the NFL in quarterback rating and completion percentage. Even though the Cowboys leaned heavily on the run, Romo still proved to be a valuable fantasy commodity.

Cowboys | Tony Romo listed as probable

Fri, 07 Nov 2014 09:19:16 -0800

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back) practiced in full Friday, Nov. 7, and he is listed as probable for the team's game in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 10. The team has expected Romo to start this weekend all along. "He looked pretty comfortable to me," head coach Jason Garrett, who spoke before Friday's practice, said of Thursday's session. "Clearly, he wanted to get the blood flowing through his body and get his movement back both in the pocket and also throwing the football, and he had a pretty good day yesterday." However, Garrett still hasn't made a decision on whether Romo will start Sunday, Nov. 9.

Fantasy Tip: Romo should play in London, but at a FantasyScore cost of $7,000, is he worth the cost? The game against the Jags could be one in which the Cowboys rarely need to rely on the arm of Romo.

Cowboys | Tony Romo could play another five years

Thu, 06 Nov 2014 10:23:09 -0800

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo could play for another five years, according to owner Jerry Jones. "I think it's realistic for him to play five more years," Jones said. "I'm aware of his back. Only God knows what is in store for his back. I've seen backs out there that you wouldn't believe how they look on the MRIs and how they look on X-rays. "If you're concerned about his future, then look at his age, and you might say, boy, you need to be thinking about a time when he doesn't play. I don't look at it much differently than that with his back, because there have been three very different types of injuries that have caused him to miss games with his back."

Fantasy Tip: Obviously the big question with Romo will be his back moving forward, but it may be optimistic to think that Romo would be able to last that long with the injury history he has had.
