Curt Sylvester, of the Detroit Free Press, reports Detroit Lions QB Curt Anes has returned from NFL Europe and joined the team Tuesday, June 8. He won't participate in the final two days of the team's minicamp, but will be ready by the start of training camp.

DetroitLions.com reports that if Detroit Lions QB Curt Anes can show enough progress, the Lions might be forced to make a decision to keep four quarterbacks, along with QB Joey Harrington, QB Mike McMahon and QB Ty Detmer. Anes will need some time to develop and learn the offense, and how well he progresses and takes advantage of his reps could be very important.

Tom Kowalski, of Mlive.com, reports Detroit Lions rookie QB Curt Anes will have a very hard time cracking the Lions’ top-three quarterbacks – Joey Harrington, Mike McMahon and Ty Detmer. He said he knew the team had three good QBs coming in and he’s looking to impress during the pre-season and then possibly catch on as possibly a practice squad player of NFL Europe allocation.
