The Associated Press reports Denver Broncos OG Dwayne Carswell is feeling good as he takes part in practice Sunday, July 30. Carswell is back in shape after a car accident in 2005, but will not be satisfied unless he makes the roster. "I've come a long way, but I want to play football until I don't have the desire to play," said Carswell. He is currently running with the No. 3 offense and faces long odds to make the team after OT Adam Meadows was signed.

Vicki Michaelis, of the USA Today, reports Denver Broncos OL Dwayne Carswell is recovering nicely from the injuries he suffered in an automobile accident last season. A five-car collision left him with cracked ribs and a ruptured spleen and diaphragm. "I wasn't sure that he'd ever play, period, based on the trauma he had," Broncos head trainer Steve Antonopulos says. Carswell has gone from breathing with a ventilator to walking gingerly to huffing his way through a light treadmill session to joining his teammates for voluntary workouts. "Every day that goes by I feel a lot better," Carswell says. "I'm getting back to my old self again. I am very confident that I'll be able to play (this season). I'll be ready to play and help the team out any way I can." Physically, Carswell will be ready to take on anything training camp and the season bring, Antonopulos says. Psychologically, he's still preparing for the hard hits.

Andrew Mason, of DenverBroncos.com, reports Denver Broncos OG Dwayne Carswell made his first practice back with the team Tuesday, May 16, since being involved in an automobile accident that ended his season last year. Carswell said he experienced only "a little" soreness and weighed "about 15 pounds" less than he did last season. "I don't want to put it on," he said. "I kind of want to be smaller for right now. I joined the offensive line as one of the heaviest from playing tight end," he added, "so it's kind of different."
