Bob Brookover, of the Philadelphia Inquirer, reports Philadelphia Eagles OG Steve Sciullo wants to make an impression on the team again in 2005 as he did in 2004 when he was a late addition to the team. He was claimed off waivers from the Indianapolis Colts just four days before the season opener and he ended up starting five of the Eagles' 16 regular-season games and played a significant amount of time in two others. This year the competition on the offensive line is fierce and Sciullo has to work hard just to nail down a roster spot. It is also possible Sciullo could play more in 2005. In fact, if the season were to start tomorrow, he'd probably be the starting left guard, with OL Artis Hicks filling in for OT Tra Thomas as the starting left tackle since Thomas is out with a blood clot.

Bob Kent, of PhiladelphiaEagles.com, reports Philadelphia Eagles OG Jermane Mayberry (biceps) suffered a torn biceps tendon in the Week 3 game against the Detroit Lions. Mayberry is scheduled to see a specialist Monday, Sept. 27 for further evaluation. Though normally a season-ending injury, Mayberry's injury is up high where two tendons are connected to the shoulder, and head coach Andy Reid is holding out hope that Mayberry can still contribute this season. If Mayberry can't play, the team will turn to OL Steve Sciullo as his replacement.
