Tom James, of the Terre Haute (Ind.) Tribune-Star, reports the Indianapolis Colts have reportedly released OL Makoa Freitas (foot). Although team officials have not released any information on the roster move, sources close to Freitas confirmed that the Colts had decided to part ways with him.

Mike Chappell, writing for the Sporting News, reports Indianapolis Colts OL Makoa Freitas' (foot) recovery from a foot injury that forced him to miss the 2005 season will keep him from being ready for the start of training camp July 30. Freitas is the only backup tackle with any experience. If he misses a portion of the preseason, the workload will fall on a pair of rookies – OL Michael Toudouze and OL Charley Johnson.

Mike Chappell, of the Indianapolis Star, reports Indianapolis Colts president Bill Polian indicated the team is concerned about OT Makoa Freitas (foot). Head coach Tony Dungy said Freitas' recovery has been "maybe a little slower than we would like, but you're always trying to bring the young tackles in and we feel like we've got two guys who can develop." The team selected OT Michael Toudouze and OT Charley Johnson in the 2006 NFL Draft.

The Indianapolis Colts have re-signed restricted free agent OL Makoa Freitas to an undisclosed contract. He was tendered a one-year, $721,600 contract earlier this offseason.
