According to the Associated Press, Denver Broncos QB Steve Beuerlein's future for this season could be determined next Monday when he tests his ailing right elbow with some light throwing. If the pain does not subside, he likely will spend the season on injured reserve. S Eric Brown (concussion) did not practice Monday and he will likely sit out this week's pre-season game. Also sidelined Monday were CB Jimmy Spencer (strained right hamstring) and S George Coghill (hip flexor). Spencer will not play Friday, while the Broncos will make a decision on Coghill later in the week. DT Chester McGlockton (knee ligament) did some light jogging Monday and hopes to be back for the regular-season opener Sept. 10. Coach Mike Shanahan said rookie DE Paul Toviessi, slow to recover from knee surgey, could wind up on IR too.
