New York Giants OT David Diehl has agreed to take a pay cut for the 2013 season; his base salary has been lowered from $4.475 million to $1 million. OT Kevin Boothe will start at left guard and Diehl will be an option to start at right tackle, but he'll compete with OT James Brewer for a job.

New York Giants OL David Diehl could be a salary cap casualty as free agency approaches. "The thing you realize at an early age is that as an NFL player you have an expiration date on you and it comes with a price tag," the offensive lineman said Tuesday. "That's the way that it always goes. Nothing has been said to me yet, but that's all things you can't control. The only things you can control are the way you prepare each and every day, getting myself healthy, and whenever that comes about we'll deal with it. But as of now, nothing has been said."

New York Giants OT David Diehl plead guilty Monday, Feb. 11, to aggravated DUI and impaired driving after he crashed into a parked car last June. Diehl's blood-alcohol level was .182, more than twice the legal limit in New York. Diehl was placed on a six-month conditional discharge program.
