St. Louis Rams general manager Les Snead indicated the team will be using LB Mario Haggan at strongside linebacker but does have the ability to play all three linebacker positions.

Denver Broncos LB Von Miller (thumb) sat out of practice again Thursday, Dec. 1, following thumb surgery. He will continue to be listed as day-to-day. LB Mario Haggan will start in place of Miller if he can't play in Week 13.

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos LB Von Miller (thumb) has vowed to play in Week 13 against the Minnesota Vikings after having thumb surgery Tuesday, Nov. 29. Normally this type of thumb injury would keep the player out at least a week. LB Mario Haggan might see a bigger role if Miller is sidelined.

Denver Broncos LB Mario Haggan played nearly all of the base downs in Week 5 in place of rookie LB Von Miller, who entered only on passing downs. Head coach John Fox said Miller continues to improve as the season progresses. "Von's learning and a tremendous player and improving every week," Fox said. "I think some of the things they were doing, (Haggan) was better served in those situations."

The Denver Broncos may consider moving LB Mario Haggan to defensive end this season in order to be more creative with their defensive packages. If Haggan switches positions, LB Mike Mohamed and Nate Irving likely would see more playing time.

Denver Broncos LB Mario Haggan may face an uphill battle for the starting middle linebacker spot during training camp because he is not the prototypical middle linebacker that head coach John Fox uses in his defense. Haggan has played at around 265 pounds during his career with the team but Fox's middle linebackers weigh around 240 pounds.
