Zac Jackson, of ClevelandBrowns.com, reports the Cleveland Browns are considering bringing back QB Todd Husak who was recently signed and allocated to NFL Europe. The Browns want to make sure they have enough healthy QBs for the team's Quarterback School which gets underway March 22.

Updating previous reports, the New York Daily News reports four New York Jets players testified Monday before a Nassau County grand jury in the case of Jets OT Jumbo Elliott. While the district attorney’s office hasn’t revealed the names of the players, sources have confirmed that they are: Jason Fabini, Dennis O’Sullivan, Todd Husak, and former Jets player Matt Knutson, who is now with the New England Patriots. Three other players – Jonathan Goodwin, Chris Smith, and Elliott himself – will also be required to testify. The grand jury is expected to decide next week if charges will be filed.

Associated Press reports the Berlin Thunder defended their World Bowl title on Saturday with a 26-20 win over the Rhein Fire. Berlin QB Todd Husak threw two TD passes to WR Dane Looker during the win. Looker, who was allocated to NFL Europe by the St. Louis Rams, was the game MVP after catching 11 passes for 111 yards and two scores. Berlin took a 20-0 lead in the first half in front of a record 53,109 onlookers. The Fire became the first team in NFL Europe that failed to win a championship game in three tries.

Updating an earlier story, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports for the Sporting News the contract signed by QB Todd Husak with the Denver Broncos was a one-year, $375,000 deal. He is expected to compete with QBs Steve Beuerlein and Jarious Jackson for the backup job behind starter Brian Griese. QB Gus Frerotte, an unrestricted free agent, is not expected to re-sign with Denver.

The Washington Post reports Washington Redskins coach Marty Schottenheimer said the team could begin making roster cuts Sunday or Monday. The Redskins appear set to let go of QB Todd Husak, but it won't be until after the last pre-season game. The coach reiterated that QB Tony Banks's standout play Friday does not put QB Jeff George's hold on the starting job at risk. "Any controversy about that position on our team is outside the organization," Schottenheimer said. "It's not in house."

The Washington Post reports Washington Redskins QB Todd Husak will probably not play in Friday's pre-season game against Cleveland. Coach Marty Schottenheimer said the bigger need is evaluating QBs Jeff George and Tony Banks. George will start the game and play 12 to 15 snaps. Banks will play at least one quarter and possibly two. Rookie QB Sage Rosenfels will finish the game. The coach said the team will only keep three QBs for the final roster.

The Washington Post reports the deal signed by QB Tony Banks with the Washington Redskins was a one-year, $477,000 contract. Banks was in uniform and on the field for the afternoon walk-through practice at Dickinson College, but is not scheduled to play in Friday night's pre-season game. Coach Marty Schottenheimer said the signing of Banks did not eliminate QB Todd Husak from competing for the backup quarterback job. The coach said Jeff George remains entrenched as the Redskins starter when he is healthy.

Associated Press reports Washington Redskins QB Jeff George threw about 30 short passes for about 15 yards in Wednesday's practice. George didn't have any problems with his shoulder and hopes to be throwing at normal speed by Tuesday. QB Todd Husak, who has been out with a strained oblique muscle, also threw some passes. Head coach Marty Schottenheimer said the decision on whether Husak plays in the pre-season game Friday is up to the trainers.

The team's official site reports Washington Redskins TE Stephen Alexander (hamstring) returned to practice today. He will probably play Friday against the Falcons. DE Marco Coleman (back) was also back practicing and he is now expected to play Friday. QB Jeff George could begin throwing again as early as Wednesday, according to coach Marty Schottenheimer. The coach also said it appears rookie QB Sage Rosenfels will start against Atlanta this Friday. The coach said he does not know at this point whether Todd Husak will be available to play Friday while he nurses a strained oblique muscle.

Liz Clarke reports for the Washington Post Washington Redskins DEs Bruce Smith (mild shoulder sprain) and Marco Coleman (strained back) remained sidelined and neither may play in this week's pre-season game or practice this week. As previously reported, QB Todd Husak made the injury list with a strained oblique muscle on his left side. TE Stephen Alexander (hamstring) appears to be getting closer to returning to practice. Coach Marty Schottenheimer suggested that Alexander will start easing back into practice this week. If all goes well, he may play on Friday.

Rick Snider reports for the Washington Times Washington Redskins QB Todd Husak, who as previously reported struggled tonight, suffered a muscle strain in his side during pre-game warmups and almost didn't play. However, coach Marty Schottenheimer said "I didn't want to take this chance from him." Husak was making his first start due to QB Jeff George's injury. Husak will have to play well Friday when Washington plays Atlanta at FedEx Field if he hopes to remain behind George on the depth chart.

Mark Maske reports for the Washington Post the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Washington Redskins tonight, 20-0. Redskins QB Todd Husak completed 3 of 10 passes for 27 yards and an interception. The Redskins had two first downs and 32 yards of total offense in the first half. For the Chiefs, QB Trent Green hit WR Derrick Mayes with a 29-yard TD pass. Dante Hall returned a punt 92-yards for the Chiefs other TD. PK Todd Peterson kicked a 23-yard FG to open the scoring for the Chiefs. PK Lawrence Tynes's 22-yard FG completed the scoring for Kansas City.

The Associated Press reports Washington Redskins coach Marty Schottenheimer said it's likely his QB rotation for this week's pre-season game will be Todd Husak playing the first half and rookie QB Sage Rosenfels plays the second half. Schottenheimer insisted he won't pursue a veteran passer even if Husak plays poorly against the Chiefs.
