Kent Somers, of the Arizona Republic, reports the Arizona Cardinals have reached an injury settlement with DL Kenny King (wrist), who was waived/injured last week. King will receive about $212,000 and will become an unrestricted free agent when the settlement clears the league office Friday, Sept. 1. King missed the previous two seasons with wrist injuries, but agent Kirk Wood is confident teams will show interest once King is healthy. "I don't think he'll have a problem going somewhere," he said.

The Associated Press reports Arizona Cardinals DL Kenny King (wrist) will undergo surgery to remove a metal plate from his right wrist and will be out for about eight weeks, according to head coach Dennis Green. Doctors have decided to remove the plate rather than wait until after the season, as originally planned.

He's had two surgeries, and the latest one appears to have worked. It limits the wrist's range of motion, but it should help King withstand the rigors of the job. If he's healthy, he could battle for a starting job and at least be a valuable backup.
