Roy Cummings, of the Tampa Tribune, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Brian Griese was not on the field at the start of the team's minicamp. Griese was negotiating his release at one point earlier this offseason and is not a part of the team's plans for 2009. Griese's absence from the minicamp should come as no surprise as the Buccaneers have been trying to trade him since before the NFL Draft.

PewterReport.com reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Brian Griese, PK Matt Bryant, P Josh Bidwell, OT Donald Penn, DE Greg White, LB Barrett Ruud, LB Angelo Crowell, RB Derrick Ward, RB Cadillac Williams, WR Maurice Stovall, OG Arron Sears, CB Torrie Cox and OG Julius Wilson sat out the team's voluntary practice Thursday, May 28. Some players, including White, Williams, Stovall and Sears, were believed to be receiving treatment during practice. Ruu and Penn's absences are believed to be contract-related.
