Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman indicated the team has been receiving calls about the availability of CB Asante Samuel. The team is expected to trade him this offseason because he is scheduled to make $8.4 million next season.

Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman would not say if CB Asante Samuel will be with the team next season. He does believe CBs Nnamdi Asomugha, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Samuel can play in the same secondary if Samuel does return because they will be able to work together this offseason on different things.

Philadelphia Eagles CB Asante Samuel said he is not sure if he will return next season but hopes that he will be back. He is scheduled to make $9.4 million next season and more than $11 million in 2013.

At one point, the Philadelphia Eagles had a deal in place to send CB Asante Samuel to the Detroit Lions, according to two sources close to the situation. General manager Howie Roseman even went so far as to have the Lions call Samuel. However, the deal ultimately fell through.
