Dallas Cowboys CB Terence Newman has struggled over the latter half of the season. He continues to play six to eight yards off the ball and has shied away from press coverage. Newman is not the same athlete he once was and it has really shown as this year has progressed. It wouldn't be a surprise if he does not return to the team in 2012.

New York Giants WR Victor Cruz believes the team's passing game has an advantage against the Dallas Cowboys' secondary in Week 17. "Those guys have been around a long time, and Terence Newman, he's a very cerebral player," Cruz said. "We have to be disciplined. Just because of the problems they've been having, we have a one-up right now going against them, because our receivers can make plays, and if we stay disciplined, we should be able to have success."

The Dallas Cowboys could use WR Kevin Ogletree or CB Terence Newman as their punt returner in Week 10. WR Dez Bryant could also be an option but the team may not want to use him since WR Miles Austin (hamstring) is not playing.

Cowboys | Kevin Ogletree likely to handle most of punt returns

Updating a previous report, Dallas Cowboys WR Kevin Ogletree is likely to handle most of the punt returns in Week 7 against the St. Louis Rams. He is being looked at since WR Dez Bryant plays so much on offense, and CB Terence Newman is used so much on defense. "What we'd like to do (is) be able to to use those guys when we need to use them," head coach Jason Garrett said. "That's why they'll continue to be back there working in practice and be ready to do it in the game."
