Vikings | E.J. Henderson still productive despite limited role

Minnesota Vikings LB E.J. Henderson (knee) had swelling in his left knee in the second game of the season, and never seemed the same in space. He was reduced to a part-time role around midseason to ease stress on the knee, but he still ended up second on the team in tackles with 130, including 81 solo stops and 16 tackles for loss. He is likely to draw interest on the open market, but his age and declining mobility with a titanium rod in his leg suggest his days as a three-down player are over.

Vikings | Coach believes E.J. Henderson can start

Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier said he believes LB E.J. Henderson can still be an starter in the NFL but is just trying to stay healthy enough to play at this point. Henderson will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

Minnesota Vikings LB E.J. Henderson can be a free agent at season's end, but he said Wednesday, Dec. 21, that his preference is to re-sign. "This is my home," Henderson said. "I would love to stay here. Of course, the money is important, to hit the market. But, I would love to stay here and finish my career here."
