The Post-Gazette reports Pittsburgh Steelers backup OT Barrett Brooks (knee) appeared to be the most serious injury casualty when he was carted from the field with an injured right knee during the team's preseason finale Thursday, Aug. 31. The extent of the injury was not determined.

Mike Prisuta, of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, reports Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher expressed disappointment by OT Barrett Brooks' recent arrest Saturday, Aug. 5. Cowher said, "I'm not going to go into detail, obviously, to let the judicial system work its process. Internally, we discussed it. I was very disappointed in the judgment that he displayed on Saturday night, talked to the football team about it, and we'll leave it at that."

Steelers | Brooks arrested

The Associated Press reports Pittsburgh Steelers OT Barrett Brooks was arrested and charged early Sunday, Aug. 6, with fleeing and eluding, reckless driving and driving at an unsafe speed after Brooks fled from police on his motorcycle. Police said Brooks was not legally intoxicated and was not wearing a helmet. The Steelers declined further comment on the matter.
