Bill Williamson, of the Denver Post, reports free agent OL Dan Neil (Broncos) said he would like to play this season but is mentally prepared to end his NFL career. Neil was cut loose by the Denver Broncos in February. He visited the New England Patriots in June, but he hasn't heard from any NFL team since. The Broncos said they might re-sign him, but he doesn't expect it. He said he will be healthy enough to play in the next month or so after his ninth knee surgery this offseason.

If Neil is cut, the Broncos will be liable for $3.32 million in prorated bonuses Neil already has been paid, leaving a potential cap savings of only $1.74 million.
