Court records show Rogers tested positive for alcohol and falsified records saying he attended Alcoholic Anonymous meetings. A judge in Novi, Michigan, granted Rogers' request Tuesday, March 24, to leave a diversion program and serve 30 days in the Oakland County jail, with credit for 15 days served.

Rogers was arrested Sept. 12 following an incident involving him and a woman. He later was charged with assault and battery, pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of trespassing and was sentenced to probation and partial confinement. Rogers was charged with violating probation by taking unauthorized leave from confinement and testing positive for narcotics.

The Lions paid Rogers a $14.2 million signing bonus as the No. 2 pick in the 2003 draft. They claimed Rogers defaulted on the deal when he was suspended by the NFL for violating its substance abuse policy in 2005. Any money the team recovers from Rogers will be credited to their 2009 salary cap.

The hearing originally scheduled for May 10 was postponed. Lions chief operating officer Tom Lewand said, "They're going to let us know when they have a date. I think they have to move things around, so there's no conflict with the arbitrator's schedule, or the NFL, or the NFLPA (players union). I expect it will be scheduled relatively soon." The Lions are looking to reclaim $10.1 million of the $14.4 signing bonus Rogers signed in 2003.
