Wed, 22 May 2013 11:15:17 -0700 San Francisco 49ers WR Michael Crabtree (Achilles') suffered a torn Achilles' tendon during organized team activities Tuesday, May 21, and will undergo what could be season-ending surgery. Fantasy Tip: There is a strong chance that this will be a lost year for Crabtree because of the major injury. Anquan Boldin will become the No. 1 wide receiver and will have his fantasy value increase. Vernon Davis should become more involved in the passing game to fill some of the void, which increases his value as a No. 1 fantasy tight end. Mario Manningham (knee), A.J. Jenkins and Quinton Patton were candidates to win the No. 3 wide receiver job but are now options for the No. 2 wide receiver job. Boldin should be considered a weak No. 2 fantasy option or a solid No. 3. Manningham, Jenkins and Patton could be options in the later rounds of drafts.
Tue, 21 May 2013 18:08:04 -0700 San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick and WRs A.J. Jenkins and Ricardo Lockette lived together for two months in Atlanta during the offseason, working together at a nearby training facility. And since the opening of the team's offseason program, WR Anquan Boldin has served as a mentor, helping the two receivers on route running after practice.
Thu, 09 May 2013 13:36:05 -0700 The Baltimore Ravens could use more two tight end sets in 2013 to help overcome the loss of WR Anquan Boldin. "We've got some tight ends who can pick up the slack," assistant general manager Eric DeCosta siad. "Ed Dickson made some big plays last year in the Super Bowl, really played his best football in the playoffs. We're excited to see him become what we thought he was going to be. We really think this is his chance to become a really good tight end in the NFL. Obviously, we've got Dennis Pitta, we've got Torrey Smith. We've got playmakers. We're excited about what we can do on offense." Fantasy Tip: Pitta was one of the surprises at the position last year and is poised to have a big year in 2013. Ed Dickson also is expected to play a role. There is always some concern over time sharing, but expect both to see enough looks to make them fantasy relevant in 2013.
Wed, 01 May 2013 18:49:45 -0700 San Francisco 49ers WRs Anquan Boldin and Michael Crabtree are considered the unquestioned starters, but after that the depth chart battles are wide open. WR Mario Manningham (knee) will be trying to hold off challenges from WR A.J. Jenkins, rookie WR Quinton Patton and WR Kyle Williams (knee). WRs Ricardo Lockette, Chad Hall, Joseph Hastings, Marlon Moore, Chuck Jacobs and B.J. Daniels are also in the mix for roster spots, as the team is rather deep at the position.
Wed, 24 Apr 2013 10:27:48 -0700 The San Francisco 49ers could consider selecting more than one wide receiver in the 2013 NFL Draft because WRs Anquan Boldin, Mario Manningham and Kyle Williams are entering the final year of their contracts.

Tue, 19 Mar 2013 14:46:46 -0700 Baltimore Ravens WR Torrey Smith said he wants to, and will elevate his game in light of WR Anquan Boldin getting traded. "Obviously, I want to elevate my game and I will elevate my game," Smith said. "I'm looking forward to the challenge."
Fri, 15 Mar 2013 17:58:39 -0700 San Francisco 49ers WR Anquan Boldin has returned from his relief trip to Senegal, according to a league source. He will not take his physical until next week, Monday, March 18, at the earliest.
Thu, 14 Mar 2013 08:22:33 -0700 San Francisco 49ers WR Anquan Boldin described his trade from the Baltimore Ravens as bittersweet; however, he has no regrets about his time spent with the organization. "I always felt that when I signed with Baltimore, that would be the last place I would call home in the NFL," Boldin said. "But my memories there are great. I have no regrets. I was brought to Baltimore to help win a championship. In February, we came home champions. As far as on the field, I don't feel like I left anything behind."
