Lions | Anquan Boldin appears unlikely to return

Sat, 06 May 2017 07:47:09 -0700

Although free-agent WR Anquan Boldin (Lions) does not plan to retire, he has not had discussions with the Detroit Lions for more than a month. In the opinion of's Kyle Meinke, the odds of him returning to Detroit for the 2017 season are growing increasingly slim, especially after the Lions drafted WR Kenny Golladay in the third round of the draft. In addition, Boldin's No. 80 jersey has been reassigned to TE Michael Roberts.

Ravens | Anquan Boldin may be option for Ravens

Sun, 30 Apr 2017 13:19:45 -0700

Free-agent WR Anquan Boldin (Lions) has received interest from the Baltimore Ravens this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: The Ravens lost Steve Smith and Kamar Aiken this offseason, so Boldin could improve the team's receiving corps. He is 36 years old but was able to record 67 receptions, 584 yards and eight touchdowns in 2016. Boldin would have a solid role in the passing game if he signs with the Ravens and can be a No. 4 or No. 5 receiver for fantasy owners.

Lions | Anquan Boldin deal an issue

Sun, 02 Apr 2017 09:06:10 -0700

Updating an ongoing story, Detroit Lions executives want free-agent WR Anquan Boldin (Lions) to return, but reaching an agreement on a new deal is becoming an uncertainty.

Fantasy Tip: Boldin led the Lions with eight touchdown receptions in 2016 and is clearly the best choice to operate out of the slot among Detroit's current options on its roster. The well-aged veteran would be a WR5 with flex consideration should he re-sign in Detroit.

Ravens | John Harbaugh wants Anquan Boldin back

Tue, 28 Mar 2017 17:34:17 -0700

Free-agent WR Anquan Boldin's (Lions) possible future with the Baltimore Ravens is in the hands of general manager Ozzie Newsome, according to head coach John Harbaugh. Harbaugh said he would love to have his former receiver back in Baltimore.

Fantasy Tip: Boldin is one of the best available free agents, but he will turn 37 years old later this year. The Ravens do lack depth at wide receiver, but Boldin would be no more than a flex consideration in PPR leagues if he did sign with his former squad.

Lions | Anquan Boldin return possible but unlikely

Sat, 18 Mar 2017 15:18:35 -0700

Free-agent WR Anquan Boldin (Lions) could return to the Detroit Lions for a second season according to ESPN's Michael Rothstein, but likely only if T.J. Jones and Jace Billingsley do not step up to assume the No. 3 receiving job. Rothstein also believes Boldin is unlikely to sign with any team until just before training camp.

Fantasy Tip: Boldin is 36, so it makes sense the Lions would want one of their younger receivers to step forward. Boldin was arguably Matthew Stafford's favorite third-down and red zone weapon last season and still has enough left to help a team in a similar role in 2017. Regardless of where he lands, he'll like be no more than a low-end WR4 or WR5 in fantasy.

NFL | Anquan Boldin will play in 2017

Mon, 13 Mar 2017 09:14:07 -0700

Free-agent WR Anquan Boldin (Lions) has decided to return for the 2017 season, his 15th year in the NFL.

Fantasy Tip: Boldin scored eight times in 2016 and looked fresh for his age. The Lions likely will make a play for him in free agency. He shouldn't have much trouble finding a role with a team. At best, though, he is a roster-filler for deep fantasy leagues.
