"He sustained some hits, but that's football, particularly when you're talking about this matchup," head coach Mike Tomlin said. "He did a nice job of communicating where he was." Some of Leftwich's teammates recalled that he kept telling everyone he was fine, and Leftwich himself repeated "I'm OK" four times to reporters after the game.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Byron Leftwich (rib) was tended to by the medical staff on the sidelined in the fourth quarter of the Week 11 game against the Baltimore Ravens. He was able to finish the game, ending up completing 18 of his 39 passes for 201 yards, no touchdowns and one interception. He did account for the team's only touchdown when he scored on a 31-yard scamper in the first quarter.

It's the same injury that forced former QB Brett Favre to end his streak of 297 straight games played. A sternoclavicular sprain involves ligament damage to the joint connecting the breastbone and collarbone, and normal recovery time is typically three weeks to multiple months. Head coach Mike Tomlin said QB Byron Leftwich will receive the majority of snaps in practice this week and is expected to start against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 11.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Byron Leftwich entered the Week 10 game Monday, Nov. 12, against the Kansas City Chiefs for the injured QB Ben Roethlisberger (shoulder). Leftwich completed seven of his 14 pass attempts for 73 yards, leading his team to a go-ahead field goal in the fourth quarter.
Fantasy Tip: Leftwich might be counted upon to start in Week 11 against the Baltimore Ravens if Roethlisberger cannot go, and early indications are that he has an injury that concerns the team. Leftwich would only be worth adding as a QB2 in leagues which require two starting signal callers.
