Updating a previous report, ESPN.com reports Baltimore Ravens QB Kyle Boller (shoulder) has a partially torn labrum in his throwing shoulder, a source told ESPN's Chris Mortensen. It was not clear whether it is an old or new injury. The source said Boller plans to hold off on surgery for now and will receive treatments for a week or more in hopes that the shoulder will improve; if it does not, he will then undergo surgery.

Aaron Wilson, of the Carroll County Times, reports Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh made it clear QB Joe Flacco is no longer a part of the competition with QB Troy Smith and QB Kyle Boller for starting quarterback. Harbaugh said, "I think Troy and Kyle, by the basis of practice so far have separated themselves from Joe in terms of being ready to line up and win a football game for us at this level. Not to say it couldn't happen, but right now they've moved ahead."
